FLAMENCO VERKEERD
One classical flute player, a flamenco guitar player, and a latin percussionist with different points of views and backgrounds are the melting pot for this flamenco trio created in The Netherlands by spanish and dutch musicians. “We called the band Flamenco Verkeerd because the dutch expression for a coffee with a lot of milk, Coffee Verkeerd. Thinking about how we end up playing together here this name was a funny starting point for us”
This flamenco jazz project comes out from some students who met at Codarts (Conservatorium from Rotterdam) interested in looking for new forms and ways of performing a deep folk music with a long tradition in its roots as flamenco.
“We try to show what we are staying close to the roots of flamenco but also been aware of the modern flamenco currents and other influences from any kind of music we can listen”
